Summary: | A collection of eleven short (and short-short) stories that examine loneliness, maturation, and place. “Inside” follows a young girl out of her house. “This New Home For Me” looks for ghosts inside a house. “All Good Things Come to an End” moves back and forth through a daughter’s memory. “Preventative Maintenance” is about a man trying to make sense of fatherhood and the death of loved ones. Siblings board a cruise ship in “Ahead of the Curve”; a girl is sent away in “Waterside”. A woman tries to remedy past poor choices—and makes some new ones—in “Exposed”, and a man looks for company in nature in “Merman of the Springs”. In “Outside”, two friends catch-up.
