Seventeen studies were used in two separate analyses. The first one evaluated the effects of sound stimuli on within-subjects groups. Data were recorded before and during music intervention. The second analysis evaluated the effects of sound stimuli on between-subjects groups using an experimental/control design. Overall results indicated that music has proven to be significantly effective in rehabilitation of the limbs (d = .81 for the pre-post studies and d = 1.04 for the experimental/control studies).
