This study were designed to combine a controlled experimental laboratory analysis with a retail field approach in order to provide comprehensive and practical information on the effect of retail environment on color. The results of this study show that temperature and humidity in the retail environment and controlled experimental laboratory were different. The variations of temperature and humidity have an impact on the three dimensions of color. Different illuminants in table top spectrophotometer affect color dimensions. Moreover, there was an inter-instrumental agreement between portable and spectrophotometers, but there was a statistically significant in terms of mean differences.
