Description
Summary:The principal aim of this investigation is the detailed field study of stream bank erosion, in which 12 variables are examined in terms of their influence upon the nature and rate of stream bank erosion. Two streams with actively eroding banks were chosen, each representing a different physical environment. The emphasis at Peraki stream was fluvial bank erosion and at Le Bons upon sub-estuarine and estuarine processes. In order to fully understand this geomorphic process a brief mention of the physical environment of Banks Peninsula as a whole, and the field sites in particular, is essential.
