| Summary: | This thesis studies the birational geometry of Fano complete intersections of index one with simple singularities, in particular constructing families which are birationally superrigid. There are two cases considered, Fano complete intersections of codimension two and Fano complete intersections of high codimension. In each case the construction of the birationally superrigid families allows estimates of the codimension of the locus of non-birationally superrigid varieties. |
