Summary:Vitamin D has been postulated to play a role in skeletal muscle mass and function, albeit the majority of studies investigating this link have focused on older individuals (>65 years); an age group known to be at risk of compromised muscle function. This thesis aimed to investigate the interaction between vitamin D and muscle function in additional age- and disease- specific populations with known adverse muscle function, focusing on seasonality.
