Description
Summary:The main part of the work is divided into three sections. Section I deals with cytological and cytochemical investigations into the changes which occur with the induction of heritable changes in flax. Section II is concerned with the genetic factors which control induced changes in Linum. Plastic and non-plastic varieties of Linum and their crosses are examined cytochemically. for D. N. A. change, and by large scale field experimentation. Section III is a report of selection experiments which attempt to sub-divide the genetic factors responsible for induced plant weight differences. Part 2 deals with a topic unrelated to induced heritable changes and is a short piece of work concerning pairing at meiosis in chromosome multiples of rye.
