Description
Summary:Future third generation transmission networks will be largely IP based systems. This research addresses the virtual bus architecture, a hierarchical access network offering a broadcast capability for data and signaUing. The appearance of numerous technologies such as voice over r IP, multimedia applications, and video conferencing requires an integrated approach to network design and implementation, supporting multiple types of traffic from multiple sources. This research updates the virtual bus architecture to address these requirements.
