| Summary: | In multi-agent systems the overall behavior of the system is often based on the interactions that take place between different agents in the system. The need for more obust and yet more flexible means of agent interactions grows to ensure that agent systems remain in tune with dynamic and complex application domains. Adding flexibility in agent interactions, however, should not jeopardize the benefits of structural support for agent messages, such as the one provided by agent interaction protocols iAlPs. At the same time, any approach should avoid the deficiencies inherent in agent interaction protocols (a) protocols are typically pre-defined and can not be changed/altered dynamically (b) protocols offer coherence at local level rather then global coherence by addressing specific aspects/segments of an overall dialogue.
