Summary: | The presence of co-morbid physical and mental health needs is common in older people admitted to general hospitals and brings adverse consequences for older people, family carers, and services. There is evidence that staff well-being and patient are are closely linked and the experiences of nursing staff are therefore important. This study aimed to explore nurses' experiences of caring for older people with functional mental health problems, the associated stressors, and how nurses cope. A secondary aim of this study was to explore nurses' experiences of working with a liaison mental health nurse. |
