Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of group therapy on self-esteem on a substance abuse client. It was hypothesized that participation in group counseling would increase the client's self-esteem. This study was conducted over a four-week (4-week) period with instruments administered during individual sessions. The results showed a significant increase in self-esteem levels monitored by Index of Self-esteem and a decrease in depression monitored by Generalized Contentment Scale. Findings indicate that the client experienced improvement.
