Summary: | International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 14-16, 1980 / Bahia Hotel, San Diego, California === The configuration of the AFSCF data processing facilities is described from both the hardware and software viewpoints. This includes discussion of the problems of operational manning, maintenance development, and hardware obsolescence. Methods of defining the requirements of a new, completely modernized system are reviewed in terms of performance and reliability with some of the projected areas of risk presented. The problem of transition to the new system by the operational elements of the AFSCF is treated from different aspects. Finally, the procurement schedule, strategy being used, and the appropriate USAF regulations being followed are summarized. |
