Structures and Rotational Constants of the Propiolic Acid Formic Acid Dimer, 1-Fluoronaphthalene, and 2-Fluoronaphthalene Determined Using Microwave Spectroscopy

Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy was used to measure the microwave spectrum and rotational constants of the propiolic acid formic acid hydrogen bonded dimer, 1- fluoronaphthalene, and 2-fluoronaphthalene. Multiple isotopomers of propiolic acid formic acid dimer were studied. From this data,...

From this data, the structural details of this system were determined. The basic theoretical concepts behind rotational spectroscopy, the microwave spectrometer used in the experiments, and calculation methods used are detailed. Present progress of work studying the molecules 2-fluorobenzoic acid, 3-fluorobenzoic acid, 4-fluorobenzoic acid, their respective homodimers and heterodimers, and the dimers formed with formic acid are also discussed. 2013 text Electronic Thesis http://hdl.handle.net/10150/297518 en Copyright © is held by the author.
