The occupational groups the report focuses on are officials, pipe layers and excavator operators. The report investigates and presents previous research and studies that have been conducted in similar areas. The aim is to to provide a better understanding of the system's efficiency and the problematics of increasing automation in production.Interviews have been conducted with three respondents from each occupational group to provide an understanding of the employees own perceptions of the changes caused by the system. The respondents' answers have been analysed and discussed to reach relevant conclusions and recommendations. The work indicates that no deterioration of the work environment is experienced due to uncertainties with the system. There are neither any experiences of deteriorated working conditions today. However, it appears that problems may become noticeable in the future. Dislocated diversion of responsibility, impact on the involvement of pipe layers and the risk of negative impact on pipe layers' professional competence in production are described as the greatest risks. Further studies in the field are recommended.
