Summary:This thesis analyses the implementation of United Nations Security Council’s resolution (UNSCR) 1325 in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. This research is interested in whether equal representation and political of presence has an impact on the implementation of the resolution. The countries different parliamentary gender distribution shall there of illustrate if that is the case. The findings have been analysed with a public-policy-analysis approach through the lens of implementation theory’s. What can be concluded from this research are a correlation between high proportion of female parliamentarians and a successful implementation.
