Summary: | The aim of this study is to explore and analyze the path to a position as personnel manager within the recruitment industry in Sweden. Two research questions were formulated: What similarities and differences emerges in relation to the path against a position as personnel manager and what are considered as success-factors in the obtaining of a position as personnel manager. Initially, we present earlier research into the subject followed by theoretical points of departure. Drawing on situational leadership theory, trait theory and earlier research we analyzed the empirical data consisting of six of us conducted interviews with leaders at different recruitment agencies in Stockholm and Uppsala. Findings show that there isn't any obvious recipe to achieve a manager role within the recruitment industry. Although there are some personal traits that are deemed more successful than others to achieve the role as staffing manager within the recruitment agency.
