Description
Summary:This thesis is the result of a study about how to improve the handling of knives in an automatic injection molding cell and it describes the development of a product with the goal of improving the positioning of knives in the automatic injection molding cell. The product is a tool that is used by the Swedish company, Mora of Sweden AB. Mora of Sweden AB is a knife manufacturing company that develops, manufacture and sells a large assortment of knives. The process began with a pilot study on user requirements specification and an inspection of similar products. To generate different concepts a combined method of brainstorming in conjunction with functional analysis was implemented. One concept was chosen for further development and was constructed through Solidworks together with complete production documentation. Continuous development on the product should focus on the production of a prototype and complete testing of function to then be continued with a more detailed design before manufacturing.
