This is being realized in an increasing number of companies. In the construction industry the concept of BIM is not new, although actually implementing BIM within a facility management company has thus far been rare. In order to provide guidance and information related to how an implementation of BIM could look within an organization, an initiative called "BIM i staten" was launched by five government based constructors. A pilot project has been initiated by the consulting company Tyréns that deals with an implementation of BIM in the facility management operations of their office building in Stockholm. On this basis, this following report aims to evaluate this pilot project based on the documentation which can be found in “BIM i staten”. The goal of this thesis is to show to which extent the system functions of the BIM and facility management systems used within the pilot project coincide with the system functions described in “BIM i staten”. Furthermore, the goal is to produce recommendations for Tyréns’ continued work with regard to adjustments of the systems. The result shows that the systems in the project coincides with 50% of the features that the criteria describe and that further 23% of the features within the project do not fully comply with the criteria. The remaining system features are not yet available. The recommendations primarily focus on the system called Maint3D and the facility management information that is made available.
