Description
Summary:Andreas Molin proved in 2011 that it is possible to renovate houses from the 70s to plus-energy housing when he gained a positive annual net energy balance at his house Villa Finnängen. To become a plus-energy house numerous changes were made. The most important of these were improving thermal transmission, replacing a pellet heater for a heat pump, installing solar power, and improving ventilation. Southern Bälinge is an area outside of Uppsala with similar conditions to Villa Finnängen pre-renovation. If the same changes made to Villa Finnängen were done to houses in Southern Bälinge: how will these houses respond to renovations in relation to Villa Finnängen, and how well does the Villa Finnängen model translate on a larger scale? These questions will be answered from the energy balance before and after renovation simulated in the program VIP-energy.
