In this thesis, the IoT usage in the car industry is investigated and analyzed, and proposals for security issue mitigations are presented based on existing research. To do this work, existing research is being looked at and interviews with people in the car industry and IT-security are made. Not much research have been done about the security of IoT connected cars in general due to its infancy. Most previous research has been done for not IoT connected cars. This lack of research made security solutions for other IoT devices interesting to take inspiration from and was then used to form security proposals that cover multiple technologies used in the car industry and other industries.
