Klövberget- ett naturreservat? : Inventering och förslag till skötselplan

There are different kinds of national environmental protections in Sweden. One of the most common types of protection is nature reserve and the most used because Swedish association of local authorities and regions decide if an area can get that protection. Because in a healthy forest there are several of important small-scale habitats, wide spreading crowns pine, elderly trees especially pine and oak trees,  different kind of species of insects, mammals, and birds that should be protected for its value of the biodiversity. But a reserve could also preserve the geological, biological and zoological values. My thesis is about if an area called Klövberget meets the requirements too become a reserve for its important values. Klövberget is a bedrock mountain and contains a cave. The forest on the mountains is a typically pine wood forest on mountains with different types of small scaled biotopes. There are several of dead wood, uprooted trees, and eternity trees which gives settlements for birds and endangered and listed species. Below the mountain there’s a broad-leaved deciduous forest and a shoreline with rare and valuable species that only exists in southern parts of Sweden. The cause is that the soil contains lime, which benefits these species.To write this thesis I did an inventory that includes plants, trees, mosses, lichens, mammals, birds and insects.  My results show that in the area there are rare and valuable species that should be protected.  The other part of this thesis is to make a draft for a management plan for the area.
