Description
Summary:Fisksätra has a historical background that goes back to the battle between Russia and Sweden that took place in 1719. This battle is known as "Slaget vid Stäket". Today there are plans to develop Fisksätra as a tourist destination where focus lays on the historic factor of the battlefield that took place there. As of this a project called the HAMN project has started to try to develop a new experience park at this destination unlike any other. The aim of this essay has been to study how much potential this experience park has to become a popular tourist destination in the future, while looking at the potential interest of the foreign tourists. This essay is written as an assignment for Göran Andersson, who is in charge of the tourism department at Södertörns Högskola. Göran are closely incorporated with Nacka kommun as of the HAMN-project. As of this we have developed a survey that we have handed out to tourists in Stockholm with questions such as "would you like to visit an experience park during your stay in Stockholm?" and "how long time would you like to spend in total in the park?." The result is then showed in different diagrams with the use of the program SPSS. In addition to the survey an interview has been held with the person in charge of the project, Helené Burmeister. The result section presents a collocation of the survey in the form of diagrams. 79 tourists total has answered our survey where 27 of them are men and 51 women. Together there are people from 27 different countries that have participated in our survey. The results showed that there was a great interest to visit this experience park during their stay here in Stockholm. The research also showed that other factors such as Stockholm’s place image was important when deciding to visit the city. Also the historical experiences were on top of the list when it came to what the tourists like to do when they visit Stockholm.
