Description
Summary:The purpose of the study is to shed light on the situation of poor pensioners by examining the reasons for the increase in poor pensioners in society and to shed light on living conditions that can affect and in the way that they are affected by a low pension. It is a qualitative study based on a convenience sample where a semi-structured form of interview consisting of individual interviews has been done to gather empirical data from both business managers at Bye Your Side and Aunti Patrole as well as poor pensioners themselves. Furthermore, the study is based on an inductive approach where the starting point has been developed from Fraser's (2003) theory of redistribution and recognition and systems theory in accordance to  Payne's (2015). The results show an increase in poor pensioners in society, including mainly women where the cause can be linked to, among other things, inequality in the labor market and unpaid homework. Themes such as ageism and vulnerability due to lack of financial resources can also be seen as a central factor in Sweden today seeing a new vulnerable group grow, consisting of our elderly.
