Summary: | This study examines how digital tools are used in preschool. The purpose of the study is to understand how preschool teachers work with digital tools during teaching, how they experience their work with digitalization in preschool and lastly how preschool teachers perceive the use of digital tools during children´s free play. The study uses qualitative interviews with four preschool teachers that works at the same preschool. The theoretical perspective of the study is preschool didactic theory and the data has been analyzed using a central concept that is digital literacy. The results show that the preschool has many digital tools available for children to use in their free play, however, with the support of a teacher. In addition, digital tools are not considered to be negative for children´s learning ability and preschool teachers have developed a variety of strategies and methods when using digital tools. The study concludes that by using transduction chains children can design their own teaching and learn in a more profound way.
