Summary: | Facebook is a social networking site where users get an opportunity to stay in touch with their loved ones. Here you can, in public or private, inform other users about what is happening in your life and take note of what is happening in the lives of others. Facebook also has a downside, because there are risks associated with the usage of the social meeting place in form of bullying and other things. For example, other users can publish unwanted images of you to appear in public. The purpose of this study is to find out how aware parents are of the accompanying risks associated with their child's use of facebook. I have conducted interviews with eight parents, four whose children are allowed to use facebook, and four whose children are not allowed to use facebook. The knowledge of how facebook works varies between the parents, but is generally good. The minimum age for a membership is thirteen, a border some part follows and others do not. It turns out that all interviewed parents are aware of the risks present on facebook and everyone also has ideas about how they best can protect their children online. ===
Validerat; 20130619 (global_studentproject_submitter)
