Summary: | This study aims to understand how Roxtec, a company who survived and coped well with the corona crisis 2020, worked with reactive and proactive strategies. The theoretical framework for the study is Dietmar Sternads Matrix, as well as other previous research that has generated results about proactive strategies being the most optimal to use in times of crisis. Thus the thesis assumes a preposition that Roxtec should make use of proactive strategies. The essay aims to test this preposition. The method of this study is a case study with a deductive research approach. Data is collected through qualitative semi structured interviews with key employees at Roxtec. The study provided a result that Roxtec mainly used proactive strategies, which is in line with what the theory says and the preposition is not rejected. The proactive strategy that is believed to be the biggest success in keeping Roxtec’s international supply chain going is dual-sourcing. This result can contribute with knowledge to companies that have been severely affected, and motivate them to implement proactive strategies to prepare themselves for future crises. The social relevance relies on the assumption that if more companies would use proactive strategies, fewer would be put in bankruptcy which, in turn, could reduce the increased unemployment that an economic crisis often brings.
