| Summary: | This study aim to shine light on the conditions for prison inmate. The goal of this study is to follow development within an institution, and then mainly within the Vita Briggen in Karlskrona, to see how the care of the prisoners and their conditions have changed throughout the ages. The purpose of this study is to see how the punishments of the prisoners have been humanized and give a picture of how it was to be a prisoner inside an institution. This study focuses mainly on the development of education for inmates, starting in Bible reading, which led to today's opportunities to get an education within the institution.
