Description
Summary:This paper is the comment and analysis of the translation of a chapter in a book of Erik Orsenna, Sur la route du papier. An essay about the history and the industry of paper written in a personal and litterary tone. Justifying once own subjective choises in a translation is not an easy thing to do. With the functionnalist method designed by Christiane Nord we manage however to build a context and a purpose for the target-text that give fruitful and objective arguments to the choices made during the translation. We use Nord’s method of functionnalist analyses by dividing the source text in text functions that are being revised and discussed during the analysis. But can we define a single strategy for our translation? The source-text is very diversified and crosses many different genres such as : litterature, science, journalism and autobiography. To find and define a suitable strategy seems thus to be a major challenge.   === Facköversättning
