Summary:This report covers the work on integrating HDR rendering in the existing Digital Arts graphics engine and in this case the HDR rendering will come to use mainly in architectural visualization. The basics of the HDR concept is covered and the use of HDR in real-time applications is motivated and the pros and cons of different image formats are considered. The necessity of a suitable tone mapping operator is taken into account and the tone mapping operator used is the one described in the paper Perceptual Effects in Real Time Tone Mapping by Krawczyk et al and the implementation of it is considered.
