The choice between SL and other traveling types is determining by factors such as available stations and reasonable traveling time. SL has a method to analyse the generalised travel cost called KRESU. In this thesis, the KRESU-method and methods to analyse the availability are used and applied on the area Uttran. Uttran is located between Stockholm and Södertälje and the rail where the commuter trains passes extends right through the area. The purpose of this thesis is to study the effects on the availability and travelling times from the area of Uttran to Stockholm and Södertälje. The result includes the impact of the traveling time in the different directions and also how many passengers that are affected. The conclusion involves a discussion of the result and submit suggestions for further studies.
