Wind power is becoming more popular and opens up new areas of implementation. More cities are starting to use small-scale urban wind power, everything from full-scale work for a little less work adapted to the villas. Sweden has high goals regarding the production of green electricity and the work which deals with the conditions Sweden plays in achieving those goals. Reason for wind power is most effective in landscapes with low surface roughness because the wind does not have any obstacles and therefore gain much speed, resulting in more energy. Wind conditions in the urban environment are more complicated. Construction and major changes to the landscape affect the wind profile and complex calculations are required. As this is a more and more attractive energy source different types of software and wind mapping has been developed which facilitates the implementation of urban wind. More barriers than technical aspects come into play when wind power is moving into the city. A wind turbine can affect the urban landscape, depending on where and how it is established. In urban areas, the large field directly attractive areas because out of its favorable wind conditions. Depending on how the wind turbine is placed it can effect the overall interpetation of the landscape. Hydrological aspects must be evaluated when the channels to pipes must be buried. The local flora and biodiversity may be affected if this was not investigated thoroughly. Birds and bats have a habit of colliding with the rotor blades and within species where population is sparse effects of deceased individuals may be serious. These are some of the aspects that should be evaluated. When the wind is placed in proximity to locations within urban areas where people have leisure activities it may have a negative impact on public perception of the natural image. J‰rvaf‰ltet discussed in this report is full of recreational activities monuments and cultural values. It is important to properly evaluate sam strategic placement of establishment of wind on a minimal impact on the social and cultural life in an area. The report summarizes the main aspects related urban wind power implementation in J‰rvaf‰ltet, just north of Stockholm city. Benefits are highlighted in a report through literature studies and interviews with key people . A part of the report presents general information about wind, wind energy, wind turbines, etc. The runner remainder highlights a current situation where urban wind power was being established and discusses the conditions for Sweden to become a producer of green energy.
