The companies have to be able to adapt themselves continuously in order till fulfill its customers changing needs in an effective way, which results in big changes of the companies’ structures. The more traditional way of working is often replaced with more alternative approaches as a response to the reputable deficiencies of its predecessors. As an effect of the rapid change and development some companies now see big potential in switching to more Agile and flexible methods and some companies have no choice but to change their way of working. This in order to maintain its competitiveness on the market. The focus on software development has mostly been about different work methods and why an implementation of these would improve different work-processes. However, there has not been much focus on how a replacement of a work method actually looks like. How to implement and apply different work methods is often seen from a perspective where the methods is already replaced and not so often from a perspective of how the actual switch took place. This study contributes with knowledge in how the actual replacement of more traditional methods into Agile methods looks like. To illustrate this a model of the replacement of work methods are designed containing all the important factors, in order to simplify these kinds of changes.
