In my degree project I have been investigating how you can work with portraying and preservation of a physical place. I have done so, by documenting the place Slussen, in Stockholm, Sweden. A place that is undergoing big changes. As it looks like during the spring 2015, Slussen will be torned down, and replaced by a new construction that will handle lots of people, business and subway and bus traffic. I have been documenting a defined area of Slussen: Gula gången, Blå bodarna and Gröna gången. Here, I have been documenting by taking pictures of signs and marks after human life, proofs that shows that something has happended here. I have been looking at how other designers work with found and collected material and also took part of litterature of how one can explore the city. My degree project resulted in a dingbat-font, based on the collected signs. A font that tells the tale of Slussen, by using Slussen itself.
