Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to investigate sports gymnasts' view of elite sports and studies and whether there was a connection between the time they spend on selected special sports and their study results. The focus of the study was based on pupils' perception of school, sports and the combination of the two. The study used quantitative methods in the form of surveys. The sports that were investigated were football, floorball, golf, athletics, riding, handball and ice hockey. A total of 57 high school students from 8 different schools participated. The results were analysed according to the concept of double careers and previous research. In terms of time, students choose to skip studies for matches and training, but nevertheless consider that the school is more important than their sport. The result indicates that students cope with the combination of double careers. Exactly what this is due to is difficult to say without further research. But my result shows that it is quite possible to have double careers without it affecting the study results in high school. What causes students to cope with double careers is probably not due to a specific cause and differs from individual to individual.
