Description
Summary:Exercise associated muscle cramp (EAMC) is something that many football players suffer from, but what is the cause of EAMC? Today there is no concrete answer, as there are many factors that can affect. In this study, the purpose is to explore football players’ thoughts, reflections, and experiences about EAMC. To do so, we have conducted qualitative interviews. In the result, we present the respondents’ thoughts about what they think EAMC is caused by, what connections they experience between the seizures, and how they think EAMC can be prevented. The majority believed that dehydration was the main cause, but also that it may be due to fatigue. The connections they experienced between the seizures were dehydration, fatigue, and hard ground. They thought that drinking more water and stretch more could prevent EAMC. The result in this study agree with previous research, but there is no concrete answer to what is causing EAMC.
