When the problems were distinguished, the authors ought to choose the problem with the highest improvement potential. One request from the constituent at Atlas Copco Rocktec Division was to connect the improvement to the document The Way We Produce. The document provides information and values about Atlas Copco and consists of 10 principles to be able to reach their vision. Delimitation was made to one of the principles – Correct from Me.The authors used both quantitative and qualitative methods. There was an observation of the physical work done in the production area as well as interviews, done with personnel both from the office and the production. Questions were formulated by the authors and the result exposed that there was a lack of employee engagement. The result from the interviews forced the authors to change the purpose of the thesis, in order to reach the main cause of the quality problem. The theoretical framework was based on both engaged leadership and engaged employees.Several criteria about employee engagement were concluded, based on the empirical data and the theoretical framework. Engaged leadership is vital to be able to reach the vision of engaged employees. Another way to approach the quality problem is by using an individual system, to be able to track the product through the production line. Finally, the authors believe that it is important that Atlas Copco Rocktec Division is working in a structured and long-term manner, in order to reach the quality objectives and to reduce the cost of defect in quality.
