Description
Summary:Abstract   Purpose: The goal with the studie is to investigate if there is any difference in walking speed individually and between female and male, when they are aware and not aware of being observed while walking on overground walking and treadmill in a self selected walking speed that they use everyday. Method: In the studie participated 16 subjects in the age of 21-30 years old. The walking speed was measured at a distance on 11 meters with a laserdoppler LDM300C Sport, during one occasion. The studie had different tests where the self-selected walking speed was measured on level ground and treadmill while the test persons were aware and not aware of being observed. Result: There was a significant difference for each test person in walking velocity between treadmill and the other occasions. No significant difference was found between female and male. Conclusion: Each test person walked significantly slower on treadmill compared to their self-selected walking speed when they were not aware of being observed.   Keywords: Overground walking, Pedestrians, Treadmill, Unobserved gait, Walking speed.
