The sample for the study consisted of preschools in Gävle, however, knowledge about the number of participating preschools unknown. 70 respondents participated in the survey, of which two were men. The result shows that preschool teachers at  preschools in Gävle is aware that it is implemented gender equality on the effective preschool and a proportion mean that they themselves are involved in contributing to the work. More than half of respondents believe that there is a need for more male preschool teachers, and that traditional toys are replaced with gender-neutral creative building material. Other materials, such as books that challenge gender patterns are used in daily work. The respondents say that they treat the children, from the individual's perspective, however, described the work with the children to identify themselves as male or female.
