This study purpose is to describe how an investment in the environment, in this study an enhancement of the sea, could give profits in other forms than just environmental.The theory used in this study are categorized in three main categorize, environmental, assessment and business. In the category environment overfertilization  are discussed, overfertilization is the main problem in this study and the problem that the city ofVäxjö is hoping to solve by cleaning the overfertilization infested lakes. In the categoryassessment, the hedonic pricing model and the comparison method are studied, these methods are often used to evaluate real-estate. In the last category, business, the Break-even model andthe supply demand theory are discussed.
