Summary: | This thesis is a collaboration with BTH and Spectrum Technology AB. The problem was that in today's society there is no extruder nozzle for 3D printers that is automatically adjustable, by having an adjustable nozzle so the printing is made more efficient as it saves time and energy. The work started with developing a concept for a new type of extruder nozzle using product development methods such as reverse engineering and product development. By developing theories and facts about 3D printers, a concept could be produced. A large part of this concept development was through the use of the Autodesk inventor program. This work consists of basic facts about how 3D printers work and how the use of different types of product development methods is used to be able to develop a concept. The basis for this work is basic facts about the subject that come from, among other things, articles and books. With the help of supervisors who helped along the way with concept development and Autodesk inventor, it was possible to develop an idea and a concept that was followed through. The result was a new simplified extruder nozzle that can be easily applied to existing 3D printers as needed with the help of arms. There is room for improvement as well as changes to these arms. However, it was not possible to produce a prototype due to the pandemic that limited resources. Therefore, the result is only a concept that has been modeled. The extruder nozzle will have a fixed shape that will only move in the X-direction. This is because no rotation of the nozzle is desired, but changes in shape and size can be made
