No significant differences were found between the two therapy conditions on alcohol consumption for the alcoholics or on a multivariate analysis of the other dependent measures for both the alcoholics and their partners. Similarly, no significant differences in response to therapy were found between the alcoholics and their partners on the adjunctive measures used. However, both therapy conditions appeared to have significantly improved on all of the dependent measures. This improvement appeared to be roughly parallel. These results were discussed in terms of implications for future research.
