This study is to probe if reading comprehension is affected by reading motivation which includes the exterior motivation, interior motivation, social factors and leisure factors. Especially this study creates a new facet of reading motivation – Leisure factor. It means parents use 3C games as a reward to develop reading behavior, enhance reading comprehension.
It was proven through factor analysis that the leisure factor of reading motivation is statistically significant. Social factors and leisure factors have a significant impact on reading comprehension. interior motivation, leisure factors and reading comprehension have a significant correlation. Children’s intrinsic factors and reading comprehension also have a positive correlation. However, the new concept of leisure factors and reading comprehension have a negative correlation that too much leisure will decrease reading comprehension.
