Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 社會學系 === 108 === Under the dual influence of aging population and prolonged life expectancy, the number of elderly people in Taiwan has increased, the rate of generation replacement has slowed down, and planning for future care for the elderly is becoming more and more important. Reviewing past domestic research, focusing more on the use of existing elderly care services, less on the way of elderly care in the future, and also a lack of understanding Taiwan people's perceptions of future self elderly care option from different age cohort. Therefore, this study wants to explore the future self elderly care options for adults of different age cohort in Taiwan in recent years, and hopes to understand whether people's elderly care option in Taiwan changes with age, as a reference for domestic elderly care planning. Based on 1,846 samples of seventh the second issue Family Questionnaire from the 2016 Taiwan Social Change Survey, this study used a cross-tab to analyze cross-sectional secondary data for Taiwanese adults over 20 years old.
The results of this study found that the future self elderly care options for Taiwanese people in recent years, the most inclined to choose to hire a family careworker, followed by the choice of full-time institutional care, the next is to choose day care, less willing to choose full-time family care. Observe the future self elderly care options for different age groups, older people still tend to be stay at home take care by family careworker or their families, middle-aged people tend to live in full-time institutional care, then young people do not seem to think that institutions and families are a relative concept, they are more likely to accept the care arrangements for daycare.
