Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩士在職專班 === 108 === The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of using picture books for morning reading program on third graders’ English vocabulary learning efficiency and to understand the opinions and reflections of those whom received morning reading program with English picture picture books. This research was conducted with 3 third graders as the participants, studying at a public elementary school in Penghu County. This study was based on the pre-and-post-test design in which the participants received a ten-week morning reading program with English picture books, and conducted “ English Word Recognition Test” and “ English Vocabulary Test” before and after the study. In order to understand students’ motivation, feelings and preferences for the program, and their willingness to participate in the future, the before-and-after interview and a Learning Feedback Questionnaire were given to understand their opinions. The main findings of the study indicated that the English picrues books for morning reading facilitated the development of the third graders’ English vocabulary learning. Also, students held positive attitude toward the effects of the program, including the word recognition ability, confidence and motivation in English learning. Finally, some suggestions based on the findings of the study were provided for those who are interested in English picture books and the morning reading program for further studies.
