The performance of junior high school students’ self-efficacy and learning engagement were middle degree; Kiasu was middle to low. 2. Self-efficacy of junior school students in different grades was the seventh grade higher than the ninth grade; learning engagement were also the seventh grade higher than the ninth grade; Kiasu was the ninth grade higher than the seventh and eighth grades. 3. There was a significant correlation between self-efficacy, learning engagement and Kiasu of junior school students in Changhua County. 6. Kiasu of junior high school students in Changhua County is predictive in learning engagement. 7. Self-efficacy of junior high school students in Changhua County is predictive in learning engagement. 8. Between self-efficacy and learning engagement, Kiasu has only mediator effect in agentic engagement The suggestions of the findings were made for educational administrators, school administrators, junior high school teachers and future researchers.
