Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 108 === This study aims to investigate the feasibility of operating sports centers in OT/BOT mode in mainland China from three perspectives of economy, policy and social culture. As for data collection, this qualitative research is conducted through semi-structured interviews. After analysis of literature and data, the following results are drawn:
First, health is attached great importance in mainland China with many policies published to encourage the establishment of sports venues, which is beneficial for the establishment of sports centers. However, there are limited cases of sports centers operated by private capital due to the lack of relative legislations.
Second, with the rapid development of economy and the support of policy,Chinese government is capable to build sports centers for all citizens with sufficient fund. While Private capital is able to operate relatively small sports centers. Based on this current situation, the OT model is more suitable for private capital. As the living quality of urban residents improves, food, clothing, housing and transportation are much affordable for them, and thus people have more available money to spend on sport products.
Third, with deepen understanding of the importance of health, people are more willing to spend on sports. Compared with the traditional sports venues completely managed by the government, the sports centers operated by private capital are more dynamic. However, there must be relevant laws to regulate the operation of private enterprises to meet the standard requirements and avoid the transfer of benefits.
Fourth, in general, from the above discussion in the aspects of policy, economy, social culture, it is highly feasible to establish a sports center in Ningbo.
