We often judge others with our own personal standards and deny their preferences. "The Globe and the Cube" story makes a reference to geometric shapes. In the story Tom and Mary have different preferences, but having experienced opposition and conflict, they eventually formulate their own leaning and opinions; the animation conveys the importance of mutual tolerance. The film revolves around Tom, Mary, and the presentation of conflict and opposition of preferences and values. In the process of script writing, Tom and Mary’s characters, personalities, preferences and behaviors get strengthened, and while establishing a reasonable storyline, the story is also enriched through the addition of the characters’ figure and characteristics. Unlike real-life shooting, animation allows more creativity and imagination to be added to the story, depicting what cannot be captured by real lenses. This film tries to utilize the compression effect, long shots, pan shots and other techniques to present Tom's dissatisfaction and conflict with Mary. The creators use their experience in animation creation; they explore the emotions and tempo of the story, and use matching background music to analyze and present the characters’ mood to the audience. "The Globe and the Cube" explores human nature through a series of stories. The presentation of characters to the public is not only limited to form and appearance, but also includes the characters’ inner qualities and independent personalities, and as the story develops, an animation full of humanity and expression is created.
