Since 1984, when the first garbage incinerator plant was built, till 2018, 24 are functioning and 2 are idling and 25,000 tons of waste can be disposed daily in Taiwan. These garbages incinerator plants operat non stop 24 hours daily for nearly 34 years, risks of occupational injury are various. Ergonomical injury is oftenly ignored due to this type of injury requires long term observation to affirm the cause. Garbage incinerator operator works in shifts and oftenly in fixed posture, Dumping platform inspector has to constantly ascend and descend on the inspection platform; according to staytistics, these work conditions cause around 39.72% of workers have bone and muscle injury, which are mainly soreness in neck, shoulder, upper back, lower back, wrist, and leg. Therefore, a study of garbage incinerator Ergonomics is essential. The main part of this research is to apply Ergonomics Safty ACC List to real cases of garbage incinerator plants and cooperate with 4E3C (4E: accidental events, near miss events, defective events, runaway events. 3C: causes, conditions, consequences.) model to conclude short-term, mid-term, and long-term improvement recommendations and to discover the root cause of Ergonomics damage, in order to efficiently prevent Ergonomics injury. In order to reduce Ergonomical danger in garbage incinerator plant, the design and application of an ACC list will provide garbage incinerator plant Ergonomical danger analysis, improve the condition of working environment, improve works' healty by providing correct operation posture, and help adminisphere to set standard operating procedure and Ergonomical danger prevention plan to stop Ergonomical danger from happening. This research discovered garbage incinerator Ergoomical danger plan and analysis are not accurate and complete, including long term operating facilities with fixd posture and the design of human-machine interface. The direct cause is long term operating facilities in fixted posture; the indirect cause is the position of operator's seat to control interface; the root cause is control of failure criterion is not executed or the criterion is not accurate. After evaluating with Ergonomics Safty ACC list and 4E3C model, the resurt shows Ergonomical danger of garbage incinerator plant is strongly related to the root cause, a further research and improvement plan is worth doing.
