Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 107 === As the scale of planned construction projects has become larger and larger, the number of subcontracts in a single project has become more and more numerous. The complex of interfaces has led to conflicts between sub-contractors and even performance disputes. So that projects can be completed on time and to a high standard of quality, it is crucial to deal with root problems: how to optimize subcontracting methods and coordinate interfaces between parallel subcontractors.
This study summarizes the historical literature and the implementation experience of the bureaus-in-charge which carried out large scale construction projects. This research proposes eight common factors of sub-contracting: professional ability, vendor capability, duration reduction, interface reduction, effective use of resources, purchasing organization size, segmentation usage requirements, and environmental impacts. This research also proposes other methods of sub-contracting to the bureaus-in-charge of planned construction projects.
Parallel subcontract can be divided to five interfaces. They are: time, space, construction, contract, environment. Nine mechanisms for integration between subcontractors can be implemented during the first three phases of project development. During the planning and design stage, the mechanisms are drawings integration, design coordination meeting, and design review meeting. During the project tendering stage: interface control document and milestone setting. During the project execution stage: interface control document, regular interface coordination meeting, overall project network diagram, occupational safety and health agreement organization.
Finally, the Taichung Metropolitan Elevated Railway System is provided as a case study. It is used to discuss, verify, and improve processes for sub-contracting and interface integration. It is hoped that this research will be helpful to the authorities in charge of interface integration and subcontractor management in future large-scale construction projects.
