In order to process emergency as soon as possible, the physical condition of the old man need to care in all day. Through remote monitoring, we can monitor the moving situation of the old man. The robot notices his family immediately when the abnormal situation occurs. The robot can interact with the old man and monitor his life at any time. To implement this system, the control core of robot used the Raspberry Pi with ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.2G processor as the computing kernel. The control program of the robot is designed with Java language. The sensors combined with ultrasonic, electronic compass and heartbeat modules. Ultrasonic sensors are used to allow the robot to sense the distance between obstacles to avoid collisions. The electronic compass used to provide location of the robot for following the object moving. The robot can follow the old man to anywhere. The heartbeat sensor is used to detect the current heart rate of the old man. When the rate is abnormal, the robot will send the short messages to his relative immediately. The robots can transmit and receive the information to cell-phones with Bluetooth communication. We implement the Android system mobile app (APP) to control and monitor the robot. The robot moves with motors by APP control. The remote user can monitor the video with embedded camera of robot through WiFi wireless communication technology for video surveillance.
